Kids chapter books: perseverance

May 10, 2016

What if you write kid’s chapter books?  Do you like to encourage good character such as perseverance? Personally, I think perseverance is the key to success. Little eight year-old Anaya Ellick feels the same way. She’s a great example of someone who believes in perseverance because she was born without hands. She doesn’t use prosthetics. But guess what she did? She won a handwriting contest. Isn’t that remarkable? Her penmanship is nearly perfect. If you’d like to see her contest entry, please visit this link: http://www.people.com/article/girl-no-hands-penmanship-contest. I hope you stop by to see Anaya’s pictures and her beautiful handwriting.

I bet you’re wondering how Anaya writes without using hands. She has learned to perfectly balance the pencil between her wrists.

“We looked at her writing and were just stunned to see how well her handwriting was, considering she writes without hands. Her writing sample was comparable to someone who has hands,” competition director Kathleen Wright told ABC News.
