Deanie Humphrys-Dunne is an award-winning children’s author. She is a graduate of the Institute of Children’s Literature and has been featured on several author websites. Her books have won a number of awards and recognition including; The Feathered Quill silver medal, The Purple Dragonfly Honorable Mention, Center for Literacy and Primary Poetry Award Finalist, Reader’s Favorite silver medal, and The AuthorsShow.com “50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading.”
Her story, My Life at Sweetbrier, is a captivating book that teaches children life lessons such as perseverance and setting goals. Deanie believes children should be inspired to reach for their dreams because you may accomplish more than you imagined. You may even overcome the odds, like she did.
All of Deanie’s books convey positive messages for children, such as setting goals, sharing, teamwork, perseverance, and helping others. The fictional books are all told by the adorable animal characters. If you read her books you’ll meet Hattie the Chicken, Elliott, the dog, Charlene, the beautiful red horse, Wooliam the cuddly sheep, and others. The animals work together to help their friends solve problems. They’re an entertaining group, sure to keep young readers entertained and engaged.
Deanie’s sister, Holly Humphrys-Bajaj, has beautifully illustrated four of Deanie’s fictional books: Charlie the Horse, Charlene the Star, Charlene the Star and Hattie’s Heroes, and Charlene the Star and Bentley Bulldog.
